  1. Shalom
My passion is the Torah of our King and I decided to try and share with you every week as my schedule allows me. To study the Mitzvots (commandments) that are found in every torah portion, explain, search context, and learn the Heart of our Creator. This is something that I have proposed in my heart, to learn and know the Mitzvots of our King.

Audio Teaching on the Commandments in the Torah Portion Yitro

  6. Hi Rico,
    I read:

(1Kings 6:7) ”The house, while it was being built, was built of stone prepared at the quarry, and there was neither hammer nor axe nor any iron tool heard in the house while it was being built”.

So tools were used on the stones of the temple, just not while they were at the temple location??? Only the alter itself was made of uncut stones.

(Ex 20:25) “If you make an altar of stone for Me, you shall not build it of cut stones, for if you wield your tool on it, you will profane it

Or maybe I’m not reading the passages correctly. What is the difference between the temple stones and the stones of the alter? Wouldn’t both be “profaned” if tools were used?

Your teachings continue to enrich my study and challenge me to study harder. Thank you,
    Rhonda

  7. Looking but not finding the link to the rest (603) of the Instructions that you mentioned during this WONDERFUL Torah portion Yitro. Appreciate all the references you use to give us clearer understanding.
    Thank you!

  8. Teresa, my husband and I are taking a Hebrew reading class at our local Jewish Community Center. You may be able to find a class here: http://njop.org/ in your area. We are doing the Hebrew Reading Crash Course, and are very pleased with how well we are reading in just a few short weeks. Shalom!

  9. Thanks OOG!

I tried the JCC here about 2 years ago and for a couple of reasons $$ that didn't work out, but I'll look at the source you've provided. It's time for me to re-explore the desire to learn Hebrew. That's great for you and your hubby! Hope your knee is feeling better -

    As always,

    Shalom
