Torah Portion Beshalach Exodus 13:17- 17:16

  2. Shalom Rico,

This week’s Torah Parashash has blessed my heart greatly. A whole lesson on the kingdom of priests” could be done using Ex 16 and the correspnding scripture to verse 5 which I propse is a bad translation that puts the focus on tasks rather than on the heart which led to the oral laws(yokes) put on the people regarding Sabbath.

Exo 16:5 והיהH1961 And it shall come to pass, ביוםH3117 day השׁשׁיH8345 that on the sixth ( והכינו H3559 they shall “prepare” ) אתH853 אשׁרH834 which יביאוH935 they bring in; והיהH1961 and it shall be משׁנהH4932 twice עלH5921 as much as אשׁרH834 as much as ילקטוH3950 they gather יוםH3117 daily. יום׃H3117 daily.

    H3559
    כּוּן
    kûn
    koon
A primitive root; properly to be erect (that is, stand perpendicular);. hence (causatively) to set up, in a great variety of applications, whether literal (establish, fix, prepare, apply), or figurative (appoint, render sure, proper or prosperous): – certain (-ty), confirm, direct, faithfulness, fashion, fasten, firm, be fitted, be fixed, frame, be meet, ordain, order, perfect, (make) preparation, prepare (self), provide, make provision, (be, make) ready, right, set (aright, fast, forth), be stable, (e-) stablish, stand, tarry, X very deed.

    Exo_16:5, Amo_4:12, Jos_1:11, 1Sa_7:3, 1Sa_23:22, 2Ch_20:33, 2Ch_35:4, 2Ch_35:6, 2Ch_35:14-15 (3), Psa_57:7, Isa_14:21, Jer_51:12

and this is only a fraction of the study of Exodus 16:5, the kigdom of priests and the 2nd passover. People dwell on daily chores which I will propose are really blessings(baking & cooking), but that is not the teaching or commandment here. I also propose there is no new commandment as Sabbath had existed Since Gen 2:3, just because they forgot it, doesn’t make it new. Ex 16 is all about the heart. About Faith & Trust. The actuall commandment for Exodus 16 came in Exodus 12 as they are both about Sabbath and begin with Passover. Even the Mishnah, Chumash & Onkelos agree that Ex 12:15 is the authoritative Scripture for Sabbath regulations.

  3. Rico your teachings are incedible. Thank you On the subject of Metatron, the Holy one of Isreal, the Reeder of Isreal Eddy Chumney also had a great teaching on this on his weekly yeshiva teaching. Please keep up the Goooood work

  4. Dear Rico,
Thank you for all that you do. Posting all the GLC teachings and keeping up with the Torah portions even while traveling. They are valuable beyond explanation to our family. My daughter and I pray for you and your family each day. We have recently added to our prayer for you for “confidence without any fear, for we know YAHWEH has blessed this ministry….”, I realize that you have a very wide audience (praise God!) and realize that the reason you explain a lot of times about using rabbinical sources, etc. is due to your deep connection to the responsibility you have as a Sheppard for us….while we await Yeshua. I just wanted to encourage you and say that I and my family trust you, your testimony and zeal have more than “convinced” me where your heart (and direction) is. To the service of the Creator blessed is He! I am just one person but I would say I’d like to hear more and more about what you are reading not so much why you are using the resource. All the love, prayers and support from our family to yours. May YAHWEH continue to bless you. Thank you for all you do.
    Sincerely,
    Celeste Fiddes
    PS.
I did attempt to email you privately a few times but was unable to.

  5. Thank you for all of your hard work. Studying can take a lot out of a person and then to turn around and teach it to others is even harder. Sometimes, things make a whole lot of sense in your own mind, but when you try to explain it, sometimes it becomes hard. You do an excellent job at explaining scripture to us and for that I am grateful. I pray you have a prosperous year in your understanding, your health, in your relationships, and in your finances. May YHVH bless you.

  6. Rico,

I don’t know who said you teach too much or too long, but I THANK YHVH for ALL your AWESOME teachings!!! Thank You!!! I, too, LOVE YHVH’s WORD AS MUCH AS YOU DO!!! May YHVH continue to Bless you and keep you on fire for Him and His Word!!!

    Your Sister In Yahshua,

    Lisa B
