Exodus 13:17 - 17:16

Judges 4:4 - 5:31

Beshalach WT

This Parashah covers the flight from Egypt and significantly the crossing of the Sea of Reeds. It's also about the Ancient Understanding of the Battle of the Cosmos and the Sovereignty of YHVH over the pagan gods. Did you know? Of the Ancient Trial by Water and the belief that the gate of the underworld was the sea. Did you know that in the Ancient Near east if you came out of the trial by water and survived the currents then you are found innocent from the crime they were accused of.

Have you ever wondered why Moses was not killed after the daughter of Pharaoh found him? Did you know why YHVH selected the waters to bring chaos during the Flood? Did you know why Yeshua walked on water and what was the message that can only be understood by knowing the Ancient near eastern Mythology and beliefs. I pray that this Portion will open your understanding of reasons for judgement from YHVH.

This page includes Torah Portions from multiple years covered by Wisdom in Torah. Each year we covered the Torah from a different perspective so you can explore each Parashah from a different perspective and focus.

I am a teacher of Scriptures, Torah follower, and believer in Messiah Yeshua. I have been given the opportunity to share the Word of God with many believers around the world. My work as a servant of the Most High God has allowed me to be a voice to spread the good news of the New Testament, unveiling its truth through context and the obedience to the Almighty through his Torah.

  1. Rico your teachings are incedible. Thank you On the subject of Metatron, the Holy one of Isreal, the Reeder of Isreal Eddy Chumney also had a great teaching on this on his weekly yeshiva teaching. Please keep up the Goooood work

  2. Shalom Rico,

This week’s Torah Parashash has blessed my heart greatly. A whole lesson on the kingdom of priests” could be done using Ex 16 and the correspnding scripture to verse 5 which I propse is a bad translation that puts the focus on tasks rather than on the heart which led to the oral laws(yokes) put on the people regarding Sabbath.

Exo 16:5 והיהH1961 And it shall come to pass, ביוםH3117 day השׁשׁיH8345 that on the sixth ( והכינו H3559 they shall “prepare” ) אתH853 אשׁרH834 which יביאוH935 they bring in; והיהH1961 and it shall be משׁנהH4932 twice עלH5921 as much as אשׁרH834 as much as ילקטוH3950 they gather יוםH3117 daily. יום׃H3117 daily.

    H3559
    כּוּן

    Exo_16:5, Amo_4:12, Jos_1:11, 1Sa_7:3, 1Sa_23:22, 2Ch_20:33, 2Ch_35:4, 2Ch_35:6, 2Ch_35:14-15 (3), Psa_57:7, Isa_14:21, Jer_51:12

and this is only a fraction of the study of Exodus 16:5, the kigdom of priests and the 2nd passover. People dwell on daily chores which I will propose are really blessings(baking & cooking), but that is not the teaching or commandment here. I also propose there is no new commandment as Sabbath had existed Since Gen 2:3, just because they forgot it, doesn’t make it new. Ex 16 is all about the heart. About Faith & Trust. The actuall commandment for Exodus 16 came in Exodus 12 as they are both about Sabbath and begin with Passover. Even the Mishnah, Chumash & Onkelos agree that Ex 12:15 is the authoritative Scripture for Sabbath regulations.

Please forgive my level of understanding. You mentioned MegaTron several times in this teaching and I am not sure I understood. Who is MegaTron? Where can I find more information on him?

    1. Shalom
IS Metatron which is a Rabbinical word for the Guardian of Israel which is important in some circles of Judaism and they connect HIM to the Special Messenger that is send By YHVH to by the Intercessor between Yah and Israel. So they say Metatron is The pillar of Fire and cloud by Day also the Angle of the Covenant.
But I was only bringing the Jews understanding to what the Torah is talking about who was with the children of Israel in the Wilderness.

  5. Its awesome how Yahweh has left this strong testimony in the sea of His magnificent love for His people to see. They have also found Horse hooves and Human femur bones in the same location.
I was wondering could this under water “bridge” have been man made centuries before while long duration of drought occured, just speculating, for commerce etc.
Another thought are there any other under water bridges. Thanks for all your time and efforts!

  6. I struggled with the passage about do not let anyone go out of his place too for almost a year, but kept Sabbath at home. Finally I found it so ridiculous that I hadn’t in all of that time asked for truth. All of the sudden, not to long after that, I realized that it was about the manna just like Rico commented above and not only that, but to keep Sabbath, we gotta remain in the camp. So for me it was finally understood that even though I knew what holy convocation meant, that I was to gather with those who are like minded, those who follow Torah and seek His Kingdom and His righteousness.

The Bible says that our ways are not His ways. No, maybe we will not know all His ways or His thoughts until we see Him face to face, but in order to seek His ways, we would have to learn Torah cause the Bible also tells us that Yah made His ways known unto Moses.

Now I completely understand that I should never go out of my Fathers will, by leaving the truth, the life and the way, (not leaving the camp) to go in search of bad food that will in the end, turn into worms and make me sick.

  7. The meaning of “place” in Exodus 16:29 has to do with remaining under the authority of Shabbath. The Hebrew word is tachath, תּחת

Among tachath’s many meanings which include “bottom”, one of its other meaning is “beneath”, and of course “place”.

It has been taught by the Rabbis that Shabbat has “area restrictions” meaning, in the early days when people walked, they could travel on Shabbat, but only as far as they could walk and still be close enough to get home on the same day. The restrictions changed as methods of transportation changed.

Some of interpreted this scripture to mean they should stay in their homes on Shabbat, not going anywhere. I believe this is incorrect. Why? Because scripture tells us that Shabbat is a “Holy Convocation”, a time for a Holy Meeting.

Lev 23:3 Six days shall work be done: but the seventh day is the sabbath of rest, an holy convocation; ye shall do no work therein: it is the sabbath of the LORD in all your dwellings.

“It is the Sabbath of the LORD in all your dwellings” means that there is no place where you can go to get away from Shabbat because every household will be keeping it. And they will all be going to the Holy Convocation that is nearest them.

Rico is correct that the context REALLY is to not gather the manna on Shabbat. But the additional understanding helps, as well.

    Shabbat Shalom.

  8. Just want to say what a blessing your teachings are I look forward so much to your torah teaching each week There is no fellowship to gather just one or two of us usually on our own on Shabbat so you are a great blessing from the Father.

    Shalom and blessings

    marian

  9. In this Torah portion, when the Sabbath is talked about, in 16:29 is says “do not let anyone go out from his place..”. Does this mean that we should not be going to Shabbat services on Friday night or Saturday?
