1 Kings 5:12 - 6:13

Terumah WT

This Parashah covers the instructions for building the tabernacle

This Portion is important for the understanding of the purpose of the Spirit of Yah and His desire to dwell within every single one of usIt's all about the Holy Tabernacle and the way we should come to the Presence of the King. In this teaching you will learn about the proper way to follow the pattern that YAH set up for us to know and His will.

This page includes Torah Portions from multiple years covered by Wisdom in Torah. Each year we covered the Torah from a different perspective so you can explore each Parashah from a different perspective and focus.

  • 2010 Portions: Focus on Messianic connections in the Parashah
  • ANET Portions: Focus on the ancient Near Eastern cultural context of the Parashah
  • Mitzvot Portions: Focus on explaining and exploring the commandments found in the Parashah (in progress)
  • 2015 Portions: Revisiting the Parashah looking at the ancient cultural context more in depth with additional areas that have been researched
  • Brit Portions: Focus on connecting the Brit Hadashah (New Testament) to the Parashah

Rico Cortes

I am a teacher of Scriptures, Torah follower, and believer in Messiah Yeshua. I have been given the opportunity to share the Word of God with many believers around the world. My work as a servant of the Most High God has allowed me to be a voice to spread the good news of the New Testament, unveiling its truth through context and the obedience to the Almighty through his Torah.

  1. Rico – look at slide 129. That’s not what you believe is true any longer. We don’t have access to the Most Holy Place. Yeshua is our High Priest – we’re not High Priests. Just wanted you to know. 🙂 Todah for all you do to teach us! Terri

  2. Thank you Rico for such a great teaching. I don’t mind if it takes the whole day, as long as I learn. I feel that the Word of Yah is very sacred and there should not be a time limit. It is sad to see so many christian churches limit their teachings into half of an hour or an hour at most; and people who are seeking to know more of His Word leave with a bigger void.
Question: Was it then a muslim man or young man who found the vases at Qumran? If 2 out of 10 vases contained something, could it be that the others also contained something but that it was destroyed? I would love to know more. Thanks.
    Be blessed in Yah.

  3. Rico/Victor,
Thank you for your teachings and the powerpoint. It can not be too lengthy. Thank you for all your time and research. I can listen to this every year and still learn something new. The fact that the Vail that ripped from top to bottom was on the Holy Place ( not Holy of Holies) = opened to the Golden Lampstand = Tree of Life = Yeshua = our High Priest …… wonderful new insight. Thanks. Enjoyed your personal story about your son’s Tabernacle story.
May we all fast and pray for the USA and Israel on Erev Purim, March 7, 2012.

  4. I had a few thoughts about the symbolism of the construction of the Ark of the Covenant. Rico, you stated that it was 3 boxes inside each other. There was an outside box (largest one) made of gold. Inside it, was a slightly smaller box made of Acacia wood. And finally, inside the wooden box was a smaller box made of gold.

My first thought was that the 3 boxes represented the Father, Son, and Ruach HaKodesh. As you showed from Colossians, the Son emanated from the Father. The outer box, then, is representative of the Father (YHVH). The inner wooden box is representative of Messiah, the Son. The wood was incorruptible wood and wood represents man. So, the incorruptible wood represents the incorruptible Messiah (man). The last box of gold represents the Ruach. Yeshua said that He would send the Ruach once He (Messiah) went to be with the Father. In that sense, the Ruach came from (in some sorts) the Messiah.

Thanks for another excellent teaching, Rico. This one on the Tabernacle is one of my favorites of yours.

    Shabbat Shalom!

  7. Rico,

Thank You, Thank You, Thank you for this wonderful teaching and the powerpoint. I do have a question about what was in the Ark. The translations that I have say that the pot of manna and Aaron’s rod were placed “before” the testimony. Were these two items in the Ark or just in front of it.

Thank you for all the time you dedicate to help us learn the correct way to come to the Father .
