Shavuot “ The Feast of Oaths “

Shalom and Chag Sameach Shavuot Mishpocha! In this teaching we will be able to begin making the connections of  how much deeper the understanding is to the Feast of Shavuot in the Light and Context  of Ancient Near Eastern Covenant Structure,Language and Culture.

There is a bit of audio clicking that comes in and out, but the teaching is clear.

Thank you Daniel for the Shavuot teaching. HaShem has blessed you with an understanding heart that is reflected in your presentation. Looking forward to the next one. Mona

  2. Daniel,

Great teaching – I really enjoyed the lesson you shared! It is always great to see how Paul taught us these connections in Romans and Hebrews.

One thought I had at the end of your teaching is related to the concept of YAH’s sevenfold oath. As you shared in your teaching about the Hebrew root shebah meaning seven and Shabbat serving as the sign of our covenant with YHVH, it made me think of the 7 Shabbats that we are to count during the weeks leading up to Shavuot. With Shavuot serving as a reaffirmation of our covenant relationship (i.e., marriage) to YAH, I would submit that perhaps our Elohim commands us to count 7 Shabbats to emphasize the sevenfold swearing of our covenant with Him.

    Shabbat Shalom,
    Craig

  3. Daniel, what is that LOUD tapping going on while you’re talking in part one??? It makes it very hard to concentrate on what you’re saying. It sounds at first, like someone is typing, but then it turns into a metallic rattling. I stopped listening at about 20 minutes of it. Sorry. DeVora Clark

    1. Devora,
I apologize for whatever the tapping maybe on the audio, it was something that showed up in the audio recorder. I now have better equipment for the next teaching. Again, my apologies.

    Daniel,

Great teaching brother. After just reading, so far, Trumbull’s Blood and Threshold covenant it has definately opened my eyes, (started reading Salt this week) on how great our Creator is and how important it is for us to learn covenants.

I look forward to more of your teachings, and am excited to see what Ryan will bring to the Talmidim Teachings.

    Shabbat Shalom

  6. Daniel, I am so excited to hear your teachings alongside Ricos. I have always admired your humble presence in your teachings and we are blessed to have you here. I think maybe we need to paint a tour bus and send the boys out on the road for the Wisdom In Torah Tour.

    1. LOL Victor, this picture is hilarious brother!

It is me who is extremely blessed and humbled to be here and have this opportunity. May we all continue to Praise YHWH and HIS Kingdom!
You are a good friend and brother Victor, thank you always for your kind words.
      Daniel

  7. Deuteronomy was the book most often cited by Messiah, seems like he was pulling out the contract to settle the disputes between the two parties involved.

    1. Awmayn Brad, excellent point.

This also adds even more understanding to the context of Matthew 5:17-19

Mat 5:17 “Do not think that I came to destroy the Torah or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to complete.
Mat 5:18 “For truly, I say to you, till the heaven and the earth pass away, one jot or one tittle shall by no means pass from the Torah till all be done..
Mat 5:19 “Whoever, then, breaks one of the least of these commands, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the reign of the heavens; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the reign of the heavens.

Remember:The Vassal King CANNOT change the Covenant of the Suzerain KING.

      Daniel

  8. Shalom shalom Mishpocha(family),
Thank you for the encouragement! I am excited to see that you all are enjoying this as much as I am.
As I said in the audio, and as Rico and Ryan have also already emphasized, is that this area of understanding the context and structure of Ancient Near East Covenant Structure is the essential backdrop to our Covenant with YHWH. Now we see further the depths of the Role of Messiah and how Yeshua, as YHWH’s Vassal King, is Restoring the Kingdom back to the Father.
So by investigating these areas with the light of context and history, we begin to make the connections of how much more important the subject of YHWH’s Moedim(Appointed Times) become.

  9. We can only be made “whole” (#7) in Christ. He is the Sabbath. Our rest and peace is in Him and His finished work. God’s covenant with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob was to be fulfilled by God not by man. God in the form of a smoking furnace and lighted torch pass through the covenant pieces of sacrificial animals indicating that it was His covenant and He would perform it. In other words, nothing Abraham did or didn’t do could annul this covenant because God would perform it through Abraham’s Seed Jesus Christ. Abraham was chosen by God’s grace. He was a gentile living in an idolatrous land — Babylon. God called Abraham out of Babylon as He calls all sinners out of Babylon and continues to even in Revelation. “Come out of her my people.”

Abraham would be a father of many nations. Therefore, if God performed His convenant with Abraham, He would not just save Israel, he would save people from every tribe, tongue and nation. No one or nothing can become eternal except through Jesus Christ. The Law couldn’t become eternal until Jesus. He obeyed the Law perfectly once-for-all. He had to to set us free from the Law and its penalty of death. The Law is hidden in Christ just as the two tablets of law were hidden in the Ark of the Covenant, which is also a picture of Christ.
Jesus is the only One who can give Eternal (spiritual) life because He is the only One in scripture who is the Seed of God, not man. No man had anything to do with His conception and birth. God spoke it, the Holy Spirit performed it and the Word was implanted in a Jewish virgin. God honored the Jews by having the Savior of the world birthed through them!

Examples of things becoming alive and eternal in Christ. In the Older Testament, they used stones but they were dead stones. Even though made by God, they had no life nonetheless. Even the water that came from the rock was and earthly substance even though provided by God. In the New Testament, Jesus is the Living (spiritual) Rock, the Living Sacrifice, the Living Water, the Living Bread because He is the only One to came from heaven to earth in scripture. As I said, nothing or no one can become spiritually alive except through Jesus Christ. Only certain prophets, priests, kings and artisans were filled with the Holy Spirit in the Older Testament, but Jesus through His shed blood purified all believers in Him the Holy Spirit could be poured out upon all believers in Christ. The “Holy Spirit” cannot come into an unholy place, so Jesus shed His sinless blood to purify us so the Holy Spirit could take up residence in us, not “upon” us.

Abraham built altars and offered sacrifices without God telling him to. He knew God in such a close and intimate relationship that he obeyed what God told him to do–not through law and command–but willingly and freely out of love and respect and honor for God. God would merely speak His Word to Abraham and leave the choice of whether to obey or not obey up to Abraham. Abraham chose to obey! God gave Moses complete instructions on how His dwelling place should be built, but He never did that to Abraham. Abraham and the Covenant God made with him is very different in the Mosaic Covenant and Law. The Law had conditions attached to it that man must do, but NOT the Abrahamic Covenant. God alone would perform that Covenant which was given long before there was a Law! Why? God would eventually perform it through His Son Jesus Christ so no man could take the glory or exalt themselves or a nation!!!! Abraham is a picture of a believer in Jesus Christ who obeys Him willingly and freely out of love, not command or demand. Abraham is the Father of all children of faith, because He saw Jesus and His day and the gospel was preached to him and he understood that love and willing sacrifice would be the way. Jesus said, “I am the Way, the Truth and the Life.” If He is Truth then He is all Truth from beginning to end. He alone is worthy of all glory and honor and praise. He is the Lord of all. He became a Jew to fulfill scripture, but He is the Lord of all. He was crucified “King of the Jews” but He will return as King of all Kings, and Lord of all lords.

God used the whole Older Testament to paint a picture of His Son Jesus Christ. He is God and all things consist in Him. As the Word in Genesis 1 along with the Father and the Holy Spirit, all things were created. Jesus wasn’t Jewish then! If all things were created through Him at creation, then all things consist in Him and all things will have to return to the Father through Him alone. God’s ways are perfect. He doesn’t change! He is no respecter of persons because we all descend from the first Adam who was the first Divine Man in scripture. Jesus had to come as a Divine Man to reverse the curse of the original Divine Man. He restores us to spiritual life and to the Father. Nothing else can. Jesus plus anything is a false Gospel!

    Blessings, Sandy King

  10. I was only able to listen to the first recording before heading to work, but great job so far. You did a great job with the intro, brother. Thanks for going over all the info about what we are doing in the Talmidim section.

    Cathy,
Check out 1 Corinthians 3. Sha’ul was discussing the personal side of the suzerain-vassal relationship. YHWH is the Ultimate Suzerain and Yeshua is His direct vassal. Yeshua’s vassalship is in itself a kingdom and so he is our direct suzerain; so we submit to him, and he to the Father, thus our submission is to the Father through Yeshua! Then of course the family structure with the husband being suzerain to the wife (but still a vassal of Yeshua), and the children being vassals directy to the mother, but also indirectly to the father.

On a national level, YHWH is the Ultimate King of Kings and Yeshua will be His vassal king upon his 2nd coming. Under Yeshua will be vassal kings and kingdoms as well.

The concept is kind of hard to explain with words. I’ve ordered some equipment that will let me explain this in a graphic presentation format so once that arrives and I get it figured out, I’ll put up a video that explains this whole concept better!

    Shalom,
    Ryan

  11. I enjoyed Daniel’s teaching. His pace was good and the powerpoint easy to follow. The only place I got kinda confused was in Part 2 when discussing Romans 10:9 he said Yahshua’s role is of the vassel – but earlier I thought Israel was the vassel? Encouraging to know that in the coming days of tribulation we can depend on Yahweh (Suzerain) to come to our defense and utterly destroy our enemies!
