Rico Cortes

I am a teacher of Scriptures, Torah follower, and believer in Messiah Yeshua. I have been given the opportunity to share the Word of God with many believers around the world. My work as a servant of the Most High God has allowed me to be a voice to spread the good news of the New Testament, unveiling its truth through context and the obedience to the Almighty through his Torah.

  1. Shalom Rico! Excellent teaching as always. Thank you for your humble heart and searching out Truth to share with us. Anyone who has accused you of pride isn’t paying attention. You wear your heart for Yehovah on your sleeve and it spills out on to us. Abundant blessings to you and your family. Bonny

  2. Is it okay for a woman to teach a Bible study to a mixed group of men & women?

I do not want to be rebellious like Korach. But what do you do when things are not in order according to the scriptures.? They do not understand the patriarchial order.
Am I being to strict here? This woman is my best friend and we started the group together. Howerver, I was never asked to pray with them about this change of her teaching from a CD that she only hears and then teaches us with some notes from the CD teaching. It is very troubling to me. I have told her of my concerns and she said that I should speak to our “spiritual covering”. This is a Messianic pastor in CA that they know. I do not want to do this just yet. I am going to observe and see how this plays out. I do not want to be under a woman if it is not Yah’s good & perfect will. I have prayed to Yah and all I get is Wait, Watch and See. I am doing that but this Torah portion has made me I do not want to come against leadership but there are others who are backing off because of this reason. The men in the group are weak and the women in charge are tolerating a Jezabel spirit. I am not the only one who has noticed this. What do you think and can you show me what scriptures I should check out.

    Thank you so much Rico.

  3. Thanks Rico for sharing this Thora portion today! Got more insight how to deal with the leadership of my congregation who think different about Thora than I do. Am looking forward to next portion and your teaching about the salt covenant..
Thanks again for showing the Fathers Heart in the Thora and how to serve your and my King..

Shalom to you and your family from Holland

  4. Shabbat Shalom brother Rico. I thank you for your hard work and passion to teach torah. The Torah of Yahweh is perfect as it is written in Psalms 19:7. I also believe to be a descendent of physical Israel because of the dreams I have in which I return in the west direction. I have one question do you know what tribe John the beloved was from? That is all may Yahweh bless you. Shalom

  5. Rico,
I love you and your revealing of where the rabbinic get it right. Of course they do not get it 100%….who does? Do they get some of it right? Of course. Thank you for revealing where they do!
    Your friend,
    Victor

  6. Rico mate, keep the faith and stand tall. You are chosen and he is using you for his purpose. Humbling yourself before Yahweh like unto Moses is the true reflection of a believer in the truth.World wide his words and Torah is being taught and followed and we Pray here Down under in the land of Oz that you keep your love and commitment for our King ,as it truly helps us to learn and teach others. We are only 2 families on a island which believe in Hebrew roots so mate you are our congregation ha ha . Yahweh bless. Shalom

Shalom Edward – where “down under” are you based? We are in Perth, and looking forward to seeing brother Rico tour across Australia and NZ in 2014, Yah willing. Blessings. We’d love to connect…

  7. Shalom Rico

I love your teachings. I understand YHWH’s covenants are forever. I am grateful for that as it proves who He is. I am just struggling to understand something. Yeshua took over the High priesthood to officiate in the heavenly tabernacle while there is no temple on earth as I understand it. When He returns He returns as king as the temple will be re established and Levi officiating again. Why are we called to be kings and priests? What does this mean? If only Levi is the priesthood, how are we all Kings and priests?

    Regards, Jo-Anne

  8. In light of your teaching on the covenant of salt, can you tell me what is meant by the scripture Mar 9:49 “For every one shall be salted with fire, and every sacrifice shall be salted with salt. ” This one has always fascinated me, and I would like to get your interpretation. Thanks, Rico! (When do you think you’ll be ready to come back to Modesto? We miss you, brother!) Shalom, Stephanie Zlab

  9. What a message for today my friend. As we go through life we must constantly ‘check our hearts’ to make sure they are pure before our King. Life can be very difficult and some times the circumstances can even be confusing to the point of one throwing in the towel or giving up. But as we continue to be faithful and walk through the Torah the best we know how…we must lean entirely on His mercy, His love, His faithfulness! As we inch closer and closer to the end days of this generation – the fiery darts will be stronger and more abundant….may we all hold each other up in prayer and let the incense before Him be sweet. Thank you for teaching on the Torah – Rico –

  10. Rabbi Rico;
Your teachings are always a blessing. We participate in a weekly Torah study, and I get to bring some of your insights to this venue, and they are always appreciated.

  11. Shalom Rico!

On another note, I found it quite interesting that even though the self-appointed “cohenim” (Korah, Datan & Abiram and their 250) offered the incense, Yahweh still accepted it as holy; although he consumed all these wicked men. Imagine all the self-appointed “cohenim” in present day.. woe to them in the great day of YHVH!

  12. when I came to Y’shua, the spirit first stumbled me into hebraic thinking…I turned away to a chritian fellowship, taking your passion as pride when you were in Medford Oregon. The spirit was faithful and showed me truth now I defend you against my uncle who says your full of pride and I see the same passion that has been put on my heart on your heart my wife and I absolutley love you…|Im upstairs weatching torah portion my wife is down stairs right now watching threshold covenant..Bottomline Im forever sorry Rico and I will defend y’shua in your heart, mind and soul for eternity…

    1. Shalom thanks for your words and I do know that there is a fine line between confidence and arrogance but my intention is never to be arrogant but to love the creator with my whole soul and sometimes that boldness that comes because of his love and my zeal to stand up for my kings words causes people to think that I am full of pride but I pray that YHVH will continue to reveal and show my heart to the people. Thanks again and I do not feel offended, you decided to hear my heart for Torah so you know where I am coming from all I truly desire is to have a true servants heart and stand up for the truth of YHVH and His word.
      Shalom

      1. I will say that I fought Rico was full of pride and arrogant when I watched his teaching of the Amidah, but what really change my mind was when I saw Rico live teaching and he started repenting for be arrogant and I start listening to his teaching. I can say that Rico is really humble man but he is zealous for the Torah and it is really easy to confuse passion with pride. He have the head and the heart, that is difficult to find in a teacher.
