Don't Forget to
This Parashah covers the Red Heifer ceremony for cleansing a person contaminated with corpse impurity, the death of Miriam, the waters of Meribah with Mosheh striking the rock against God's command, Edom's refusal of passage, Aharon's death, the incident with the bronze serpent, the journey to Moab, and the defeat of king Sihon and Og.
Have you ever wondered the following...
- Why Moshe and Aaron had to die outside the Land of Israel?
- What sin did they commit that YHWH said that they would not enter the Land?
- Why are the deaths of Miriam, Moshe and Aaron are all mentioned within the text of Chapter 20?
This page includes Torah Portions from multiple years covered by Wisdom in Torah. Each year we covered the Torah from a different perspective so you can explore each Parashah from a different perspective and focus.
- 2010 Portions: Focus on Messianic connections in the Parashah
- ANET Portions: Focus on the ancient Near Eastern cultural context of the Parashah
- Mitzvot Portions: Focus on explaining and exploring the commandments found in the Parashah (in progress)
- 2015 Portions: Revisiting the Parashah looking at the ancient cultural context more in depth with additional areas that have been researched
- Brit Portions: Focus on connecting the Brit Hadashah (New Testament) to the Parashah

Rico,
This message needs to be on CD and brought to people. I wish I could post it on my you tube channel paulgem123 to promote it. This is a very very good message.
Love you brother in Yeshua.
Ray
In ref. to 19:9 you related that the Red Heifer ashes were divided into 3 parts and one part was taken into the tabernacle for safe keeping. I don’t see in scripture that any were taken inside. Vs. 9 says the ashes are to be stored outside the camp in a clean place. We are interested in knowing your reference material used.
PowerPoint Acess;
To access any PowerPoints go to the top of the page where it says “All Teachings”; scroll down to “Teaching Resources & Downloads” and move your mouse over to “PowerPoint Teachings”. Then right click with your mouse and click on Open in new window.
Now you will have two windows open. One for Rico on video and one for the PowerPoint presentation. At the top right of the window you will see three icons. One is a flat bar, that makes the window fold flat. The second icon looks like two squares (or a single square). Clicking on this icon resizes the window. You can make the Powerpoint presentation small enough to watch along side of Rico’s video. (note if you click on Rico’s recording, the PowerPoint may ‘disappear’, just click on it’s window again to open it found in the task bar at the bottom).
If you click on upper right icon, the ‘X’, it will exit and close the window entirely.
Shalom,
Shabbat Shalom Rico,
I was just listening to part one where you said that someone, the Romans, they didn’t have to be the High Priest who sacrificed… what came to me was YESHUA our High Priest layed down His life. (John 10:15-17)
Blessings in YESHUA
Shalom Rico,
With reference to Numbers 19:10, you mentioned that cremation is not acceptable. This is a question we have discussed in the past. Is there Scripture that you can point us to regarding cremation vs. burial?
Shabbat Shalom,
Craig
This probably has little to do with the above post but it make me think of this. In Judges Chapter 11 Jeph’thah’s daughter was given as a burnt offering because he vowed that if Yahweh gave the children of Am’mon into his hands during battle whatever would walk through his front door to meet him he would sacrifice to Yahweh. The women of Israel from that day on were able to lament for her four days out of the year. Was it accepted by Yahweh because she was a person?
Hey everyone, Sorry about the audio kicking out at 44 minutes. Just start the audio once beneath the video after the video’s audio stops. Let it load a minute and forward it until it shows 9:30 left to go to finish part 1.
Shabbat Shalom!
Victor
Shalom Rico!
Pinchas and I just had Erev Shabbat dinner with you again (since we listen to your teachings as we have dinner). I hope you like salmon! LOL You are a great blessing to us and we praise Yah for your dedication to the mission of spreading the truth of the Word.
Wonder if you have any feed back as to why the children of Israel did not mourn Miryam but mourned both Aharon and Moshe for 30 days each. Were they that repulsed by her former behavior? (spreading the story of his wife from Ethiopia) I know it is rabbinic thought that that is why the Israelites became thirsty, because they would not shed tears/water for Miryam. But I always wondered why they didn’t mourn her if only just a little. Thanks!
Blessings and hugs to you and yours.

Yes I love Salmon and you need to save me a piece for December. I really do not know why they did not mourn for Miriam that is a question that I also have but because I do not know I did not want to speculate on the subject. I am so happy that Portions are a blessing specially knowing how much you and your husband study and know about Torah. Yoly and I love you both very much and I look forward to see you again in December for the Conference.
take care and Yah bless you.
Rico

Blessing and Shalom from Arizona USA, Its 115 degrees and just warming up.LOL
My friend Larry and I have been studying how when people faced the East in the Torah, YHVH tolded them they had their backs to him and had turn away. So we have been facing West to do the Sh’ma, prayers and blessings. Many have questioned us about this. I am even more conveniced now after hearing your teaching today that facing West is the correct postions. I have loved this teaching of yours for the last 7 yrs and share it with all. The new items in today’s will add such a new understanding and thank you so much for ALL you do for us.

To see the powerpoint at the same time as torah portion run 2 homepages at the same time. i.e. msn, yahoo, google. They look like file tabs just hover over the little blue empty one, it’ll say New Tab, click on it and it’ll let you open another home page.
Please tell me how me how to access the power points while I’m studying with you?
Perhaps someone in this blog could do that ? This study really goes into the important details. Thank you so much for all you put into it. Got in touch with Lake City about Sukkot. Thanks. Glad your Guatemala trip was fruitful. Shalom, Barb Giffin
Shalom Rico: At 44:09 after you just finished speaking about the priestly garments being kept at Antonio sound is lost.
Shalom Rico, my friend Josue Escobar just told me you where here in Guatemala, next time I want to say hello to you personally :-D. I think that when Yo’hanan said: “Here is the lamb of Elohim who takes away the sin of the world” means that Yeshua being the Pesa’h lamb, took away the sinful inclination of our beings, so we are now free to keep his mitzvot.
Shalom Uvra’há 🙂
Shalom
nice to hear from and I pray that next time I go back to Guatemala we can meet in person.
