The Hem and Garment

Shalom all,

This is an updated to the teaching I did a while back based on a lot of new information I have uncovered since then.  I also just taught this at the Revive 2013 conference so I am including the audio for that as well, I hope you enjoy!

  1. Really appreciated this teaching. I remember you teaching this before but you have added much to it. Thank you for your study and for the insight ABBA has imparted to you. Thank you for sharing. Loved the information on Adam and Chava and the many references to passages of clothing, corners, tassels and etc. I had never really put that together as you have for me. Praise YAH! Thank you much.

That was an enlightening teaching for me. You brought out so much in the scriptures to show the true meanings of the garments/robes. I’d never would have found this out for myself. Thank you so much.

Thank you Ryan … this was a great teaching. We have so much to learn and understand about our Holy Scriptures and I find it absolutely incredible and amazing the ties to the ancient cultures … the things left in “clay” that are helping to open our eyes to the wonders of the Torah!
Yahoveh BLESS you as you continue to learn and share 🙂

    Ryan,

Thank you for this teaching on the hem & garment and the tzittzit. I have a question—did the women wear tzitzit in ANE times? I seen haven’t read or heard of women wearing them and I don’t see many Messianic woman or Jewish woman wearing them.

    1. If you listen to the last couple minutes of the conference audio I address this question in depth. I don’t have Milgrom’s JPS Commentary on Numbers with me right now, but he quotes early Rabbinical sources (the Sifre) which actually state that the wearing of Tzitzit was required by women.

Also, in the ANE, both men and women of importance would have elaborate hems and remember that the tzitzit is an extension of this hem, so one would assume then that women of all cultures wore tassels.

  5. Excellent teaching Ryan, about the tzitzit. As far as the “substitutionary sacrifice,” I think I’m understanding you better. It’s not the death but the blood. Still need to think on this. Thank you for all the research you’ve done and for the teaching. Blessings. 🙂

    1. Yeah, the death is to procure the blood and is also a means by which the animal can be transferred from this world (physical) to the other world (spiritual). That is important to note in the case of the Burnt Offering because one of its main functions is that of a gift when coming before the King of Kings
