Leviticus 9:1 - 11:47

2 Samuel 6:1 - 7:17

Shemini WT

This Parashah covers the death of Aaron's 2 sons and the laws of kashrut. It's very important so that we can understand the wonderful love that YHVH has for us, and how HE always desire to keep us healthy but obeying HIS commandments. I will show you scientific evidence why the clean animals are edible and why the unclean animals are not.

Also, Understanding the principles of Suzerain-vassal Covenant will give us a better perspective why Yahweh is so specific about us eating what He says so that we can stay healthy. We are a reflection of our King and if we are sick then the world will wonder why our king does not keep us healthy. So, in his wisdom knowing the end from the beginning gives us instructions so that none of the diseases of Egypt will come upon us. Obedience to his commandments will set us apart from the world.

  1. Shalom JoeGim,

    I’m saying yes there is a two tier salvation plan;

Luk 14:9 and coming, he who invited you will say to you, Give this one place. And then you begin with shame to take the last place.
Luk 14:10 But when you are invited, going in, recline at the last place, so that when he who has invited you may come, he may say to you, Friend, go up higher. Then glory will be to you before those reclining with you.

Rev 20:12 LITV And I saw the dead, the small and the great, standing before God. And books were opened. And another Book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged out of the things written in the books, according to their works.

Mat 25:23-30 LITV His lord said to him, Well done, good and faithful slave. You were faithful over a few things, I will set you over many. Enter into the joy of your lord. (24) And the one who received the one talent also coming up, he said, Lord, I knew you, that you are a hard man, reaping where you did not sow, and gathering where you did not scatter; (25) and being afraid, going away, I hid your talent in the earth. Behold, you have yours. (26) And answering, his lord said to him, Evil and slothful slave! You knew that I reap where I did not sow, and I gather where I did not scatter. (27) Then you ought to have put my silver to the bankers, and coming I would have received my own with interest. (28) Therefore, take the talent from him and give it to him who has the ten talents. (29) For to each who has, more will be given, and he will abound. But from him who does not have, even that which he has will be taken from him. (30) And throw the worthless slave out into the outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of the teeth.

Col 1:10-12 LITV for you to walk worthily of the Lord to all pleasing, bearing fruit in every good work and growing into the full knowledge of God; (11) being empowered with all power according to the might of His glory, to all patience and long-suffering with joy; (12) giving thanks to the Father, who has made us fit for a share of the inheritance of the saints in light,

Php 4:17 LITV Not that I seek a gift, but I seek the fruit multiplying to your account.

Joh 15:2 LITV Every branch in Me not bearing fruit, He takes it away; and each one bearing fruit, He prunes, so that it may bear more fruit.

Joh 4:36 LITV And the one reaping receives reward, and gathers fruit to everlasting life, so that both the one sowing and the one reaping may rejoice together.

Mat 6:20 LITV But treasure up for you treasures in Heaven, where neither moth nor rust cause to perish, and where thieves do not dig through and steal.

Rev 22:12 LITV And, behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to each as his work is.

Rev 11:18 LITV And the nations were full of wrath; and Your wrath came, and the time of the judging of the dead, and to give the reward to Your slaves, to the prophets, and to the saints, and to the ones fearing Your name, to the small and to the great, and to destroy those destroying the earth.

2Jn 1:8 LITV Watch yourselves, that we may not lose the things we worked out, but that we may receive a full reward.

1Co 9:17 LITV For if I do this willingly, I have a reward; but if unwillingly, I am entrusted with a stewardship.

1Co 3:13-15 LITV the work of each will be revealed; for the Day will make it known, because it is revealed in fire; and the fire will prove the work of each, what sort it is. (14) If the work of anyone which he built remains, he will receive a reward. (15) If the work of anyone shall be consumed, he shall suffer loss; but he will be saved, but so as through fire.

1Co 3:8-14 LITV So he planting and he watering are one, and each one will receive his own reward according to his own labor. (9) For of God we are fellow-workers, a field of God, and you are a building of God. (10) According to God’s grace given to me, as a wise master builder, I laid a foundation, but another builds on it. But let each one be careful how he builds. (11) For no one is able to lay any other foundation beside the One having been laid, who is Jesus Christ. (12) And if anyone builds on this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, grass, straw, (13) the work of each will be revealed; for the Day will make it known, because it is revealed in fire; and the fire will prove the work of each, what sort it is. (14) If the work of anyone which he built remains, he will receive a reward.

Rom 4:3-13 LITV For what does the Scripture say? “And Abraham believed God, and it was counted to him for righteousness.” Gen. 15:6 (4) Now to one working, the reward is not counted according to grace, but according to debt. (5) But to the one not working, but believing on Him justifying the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness. (6) Even as also David says of the blessedness of the man to whom God counts righteousness apart from works: (7) “Blessed are those whose lawlessnesses are forgiven, and whose sins are covered; (8) blessed the man to whom the Lord will in no way charge sin.” LXX-Psa. 31:1, 2; MT-Psa. 32:1, 2 (9) Is this blessedness then on the circumcision, or also on the uncircumcision? For we say the faith “was counted to Abraham for righteousness.” Gen. 15:6 (10) How then was it counted? Being in circumcision, or in uncircumcision? Not in circumcision, but in uncircumcision! (11) And he received a sign of circumcision as a seal of the righteousness of faith while in uncircumcision, for him to be a father of those believing through uncircumcision, for righteousness to be counted to them also, (12) and a father of circumcision to those not of circumcision only, but also to those walking in the steps of the faith of our father Abraham during uncircumcision. (13) For the promise was not through Law to Abraham, or to his seed, for him to be the heir of the world, but through a righteousness of faith.

Luk 6:35 LITV But love the ones hostile to you, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing in return; and your reward will be much; and you will be sons of the Most High, for He is kind to the unthankful and evil ones.

Mat 16:27 LITV For the Son of Man is about to come with His angels in the glory of His Father. And then “He will give reward to each according to his practice.” LXX-Psa. 61:13; Pro. 24:12; MT-Psa. 62:12

Mat 10:41 LITV The one receiving a prophet in the name of a prophet will receive a prophet’s reward, and the one receiving a just one in the name of a just one will receive a just one’s reward.

Joh 15:5 LITV I am the Vine; you are the branches. The one abiding in Me, and I in him, this one bears much fruit, because apart from Me you are not able to execute, nothing.

  2. In response to jer_the_bear Yeshua did not declare all “food” clean in Mark 7:19. That phrase is a later scribal addition and does not appear in the KJV and other versions.
In another post jnjwldnr posted Isaiah 66:17,
Isa 66:17 They that sanctify themselves, and purify themselves in the gardens behind one tree in the midst, eating swine’s flesh, and the abomination, and the mouse, shall be consumed together, saith the LORD.
The plain meaning of this text says that those who eat the unclean meats will be destroyed at the LORD’s return. However in Matthew 5:19 Yeshua states:
Mat 5:19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
This seems to contradict the Isaiah passage because it seems to say that those who reject Torah still have salvation, not destruction but at a “lower level”. Monte has stated more than once that salvation is strictly by faith alone and that obedience brings blessings. Rico basically says the same thing and that obedience to Torah shows our love for our Father. But as James says:
Jas_2:17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
Jas_2:20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?
Jas 2:24 Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.
James is not saying here that meritorious works can give us salvation. If that were the case, then we wouldn’t need Yeshua’s sacrifice. What he’s saying is that works, that is the way you live your life is as far as conforming to Torah is THE INDICATION that you really have that genuine faith.
That’s why I’m a bit perplexed by Mat 5:19 which seems to imply a two-tier salvation plan – one for the Torah observant and another for the Torah rejecting person. I gladly welcome any comments to shed light to this matter.
But the way Rico, another great presentation. I don’t recall seeing you more passionate than you were during this presentation. May YHWH continue to bless you richly.
    Shalom.

  3. Shabbat Shalom RICO!! Wonderful and exciting teaching today. I checked on the pig thing about insulin
and i found that TODAY, insulin is made from human “STUFF” (i can’t get into
the medical language) in the laboratory and no longer is the PIG insulin made in
the USA!! It’s ALL laboratory chemicals now and is called ANALOG. i responded
for those who are diabetic as i am. Todah again. bill gaw

  4. Rico, thank you so very much for your faithful research! You cleared up a latent fear that I had about taking blood transfusions. I did have a major emergency transfusion over 12 years ago, and sometimes felt concerned that someone else’s spiritual uncleanness may have gotten into my bloodstream, even though the Ruach has never impressed me about it one way or the other. I was wondering if I should quit donating blood, and considering removing my Red Cross card from my wallet….Your teaching is an answer to my pleas for divine wisdom about this–thank you!

I’ve been a health food nut for many years, but you are helping me to fine-tune my definition of kosher with this excellent info on the arterial structure of clean animals! I was once tested by Dr. Carey Reams himself and can verify that he researched and preached about avoiding non-Biblical meats, and had used a kosher diet to bring many people back from advanced cancer and other diseaes. He spoke of how the unclean meats race through our systems in 3 hours, dumping huge amounts of urea into the bloodstream. Dr. Reams explained that not only is this a major cause of gout, but that this urea can show up in a nursing mother’s milk and is the leading cause of infant crib death!

Have you watched the 2011 movie production entitled, “Forks Over Knives”? (www.ForksOverKnives.com) You might find it extremely informative and can watch it free on on Hudu. These secular researchers are urgent to help the American public steer away from rampant chronic diseases–diabetes, heart disease and cancer–through eating a totally vegan diet. Although I acknowledge that we are given clean meats to eat in the Bible, I wonder if we rich Westerners have become way too gluttonous about eating animal flesh of any kind. I am adopting a diet much more along the lines of Salem and Mary Kirban, mostly vegetarian, with clean meats and eggs only in very small amounts a few times per week. This diet makes keeping kosher a WHOLE lot simpler!

Whew! Enough for now, I guess! Blessings and smiles,
    Shirah

  5. Rico,

That was an excellent teaching. I was especially taken with the part about fish scales. Once you mentioned light reflection, I as a nurse knew where you were going with the next sentence, but I never thought of it like that before. On another note my husband is really excited and wants to know where he can get his Rabbi Vaccine? That was the best. 🙂 🙂

Keep smiling, stay strong and do good,
    Joan and Rick

  6. Shalom Rico,

Another awesome and amazing study. Today I expanded the study of Shemini & what it means to be “set-apart” in cleanness as Yahweh is set-apart. What I learned was it is not only about what is considered food, but how what we eat pertains to “lust”, “lust” of the stomach.

1 Peter 1 quotes from Leviticus 11, specifically from verses 45-47, as it pertains to the “lusts, the desires” of the stomach and how it affects our ability to become “set-apart” as Yahweh is “set-apart”.

Peter begins by quoting from Deut 8:2-6 and how Yahweh humbles, tests & proves us to see if it is whithin our heart to follow Him to be one of His chosen “set-apart” people. Then in the closing of 1 Peter 1, Peter goes on to quote Jeremiah 16:19 and how we inherited these futile lusts of the stomach from our fathers.

That’s all, just wanted to share this with all. May you all have a blessed & joyous Shabbat.

    Linda

  7. Rico, Thank-you for all the time you put into eaach lesson. I never really understood why it wasn’t good for us to eat unclean foods. Now I know that they were not food at all. Thanks again.

  8. Shalom Lisa,

The month of Nisan started on the Gregorian date of April 4th. Passover will begin at sunset on April the 18th (Nisan 14). The high Sabbath will be the day following Passover, and First Fruits will be on Sunday, April 24th. There are different ways that people celebrate Passover, but most involve a Haggadah (Hebrew for ‘telling’), which involves a recount of the story of the Exodus and in Messianic/Hebrew Roots circles, a recount of the story of Yeshua. An internet search for Messianic Passover Haggadah will give you a few different results, here is one that I found recently that looked pretty good: El Shaddai Ministries Pesach Haggadah . Some people choose to eat lamb for the Pesach meal in remembrance of our Passover lamb, Yeshua, while others believe that we no longer should eat a lamb since Yeshua has already come. The decision should be your based on personal conviction. Let me know if you have any more specific questions and I’ll try to give you my best answer

    Ryan
